It’s official.
The Philippine National Federation of Polo Players (PNFPP) and Miguel Romero Polo Field venue will live stream its games during the 30th South East Asia Games (SEA Games) which the country will host this year with the help of Philippine Long Distance Telecommunication (PLDT)/Smart Telecommunication.
“Yes. We will be ‘online’ to complement our world-class venue here in our country. Participants, officials and special guests will enjoy free Wi-Fi during the Polo competition which will be held here in Calatagan, Batangas. Thanks to PLDT/Smart,” said Deputy Speaker & 1Pacman Party-list Rep. Mikee Romero who will also play for Philippine team.
The agreement to install free WiFi at the Miguel Romero Field was signed by Romero (who is also the founding director of PNFPP) and top PLDT-Smart officials.
Rep. Romero will play for the Philippine team along with Gus Aguirre, Tommy Bitong, Jay de Jesus, Jam Eusebio, Anthony Filamor, Coco Garcia, Santi Juban, Ed Lopez, Marty Romualdez, Tonio Veloso and Noel Vecinal.
In the final preparation for the SEA Games, the Philippine team will compete in a high-level tournament on Oct. 31-Nov. 13 in what Romero calls “the mecca of polo,” – Argentina.
Romero was recently in Chicago for training. Another polo standout Aguirre trained in Australia.
Last Friday, PHISGOC team motored to Calatagan to inspect the polo facilities. “The playing conditions are perfect and world-class. Rep. Romero is making sure everything is in place for a wonderful experience. A bamboo pavilion for VIPs and guests will be an exclusive feature,” said PHISGOC officials. Romero named the polo field after his late son whom he said loved the game so much.
