Residents of Barangays Sta. Ursula and Maquiapo in Guagua, Pampanga rejoiced as 1 Pacman Partylist Representative Mikee Romero donated two brand-new ambulances recently.
“Lubos po ang aming pasalamat sa malaking tulong na pinagkaloob ni Cong. Mikee Romero na bagong ambulansya. Nag-iisa po syang nagpakita ng ganitong tulong sa amin. Sa kanya po ay nakita namin ang tulong na walang iniintay na kapalit. Nawa ay marami pa po syang matulungan,” said Crisencio David, barangay chairman of Sta. Ursula.
Romero, known as the richest lawmaker in House of Representatives, is known for not getting any cent from his salary. He converts his income as a congressman into a financial and medical assistance fund.
Romero aims to make a difference by helping out the poor and less fortunate.
“Sampu ng aking mga kabarangay, taos puso po ang pasalamat namin kay Cong. Mikee Romero. Napakalayo po ng mga hospital sa aming barangay. Isa po itong malinaw na dugtong-buhay para sa aming mga taga-barangay na mangangailangan ng agarang paghatid sa hospital at gayun din ang pag sundo. Salamat po at may isang Mikee Romero na natuoong sa amin,” said Delano Serrano, barangay chairman of Maquiapo.
Romero promised to deliver more assistance to communities who need government support. “The moment I stepped in Congress, I’ve promised that I will give my best to help the less fortunate specially the persons with disabilities, seniors and children,” said Romero.
